THE NEW SHERLOCK HOLMES

I discovered this serie in second of eso, when we had to read one of the books of Sr.Arthur Conan Doyle, The Hound of the Baskervilles and our teacher told us that there was an episode on TV of the story of Sherlock Holmes and the Hound of the Baskervilles very similar of what we were reading. I loved the book, so I searched the episode and I loved it even more!

The series are about a new and modern Sherlock Holmes who is very similar to the old one but very hilarious and sarcastic. All the episodes are inspired by the work of Doyle, so it's easy to relate some of them, but there's also another story about an archienemy of Sherlock very funny. It's my favourite show, but what I don't like is that there are just three episodes each season, and they're an hour and a half long. They make you want to see the rest very badly, but between seasons you have to wait a year! The good part is that each chapter goes on for an hour and a half.

Here's the trailer:

And here some funny moments of Sherlock, he speaks very quickly!

CIRCUS

Last month I went to the festival of circus in Figueres. Where circus artists from around the world came to show what they are able to do. It was like a competition, where the public has to vote the one you have liked the most.
I really like trapezists, because it's not about to show what they are able to do, like contorsionists, they have to create a mini story or a really good coreography to transmit feelings to the public. The jugglers were also really good, they had a lot of coordination. The only thing that I don't like are clowns. They can be scary as hell, or just not funny, maybe it's because I've never seen one good enough, or because only kids are able to laugh at the jokes that they do. But I don't think so, I found it a riddiculous humor.

One of the shows was a contorsionist who came from Russia. I's a little bit scary what they do, but that's not my main point, she was my age! I really can't imagine me in front of so many people doing that. Having to move constantly, you only can make friends with the people who are in the circus, a life on the road. Are all our applauses worth it? I don't think so, you practically dedicate your life to trainings and shows. It's a lot of pressure, even if I was really good at this stuff, I don't think that I could bear this kind of lifestyle.

FRANKENSTEIN

Frankenstein was an ambicious scientist who created an ugly monster. The monster was created by sewing parts of dead people together so, technically, he did have a heart. But was he able to feel like us?
It seems to me that he even felt too much. I suppose that when we're little our families teach us how to moderate our feelings but the monster had no one. In the book it says that he could feel the warmth in his body when he was staring at the poor family and it also says that he feels envy, hate and wants revenge. If I were the monster I would be paranoid.

So he definitely feels with his stolen heart but if you take a different view you'll never consider him as a human, despite the fact that he was created by human parts.

Humans also have the ability to control themselves, so as not to feel so much. I think that if we lose this kind of ability we'll just go crazy, like Frankenstein. At the end he died of sadnes, wanting to kill with his heart full of hate, without hope. If I has been Frankenstein I wouldn't have created a monster because, at the end both of them were suffering and no one won anything.

CLONING, YES OR NO?

Nowadays, science it's progressing so much, just as tecnology. Scientists have tried everything that now they might have gone to far. Is it right to experiment with humans? Perhaps it is, but the ability to create live it shouldn't. It will cause a lot of problems.

Cloning it's a great advance. The fact that we know everything about our body it's not a bad thing. For me, cloning should be allowed just to copy organs to save lives, for people who need an organ. Just for having the chance to "rescue" people.

To clone a whole organism (animal or human) in my point of view it's just an experiment of some very ambicious scientists. Why would they want to create life? It's not necessary. That's why I'm against cloning. ANd the results that they had weren't good, like Dolly the sheep, she died early and they had to sacrifice lots of embryos to find one that was functional. It's not worth it. We must not break the "invisible rules" that God or nature has. Because we wouldn't be ables to just use cloning as a beneficial experiment. Human kind is too ambicious to let an oportunity like this to forgot. We want perfection, but there's always going to be troubles for reaching it. We don't need to be perfect, it's very unfair when a young person dies, but that's life, and we can't escape from it!

LITTLE MOMENTS OF OUR CHRISTMAS

Now that Christmas has been completely gone, perhaps it's time to look back at some festive memories. I'll write about one thing that I love to go to, but that I also hate: the "quines".

In Englans are called bingos, but I'm pretty sure that they're not similar at all (despite the fact of having to pay attention in your numbers). Usually, the most crowded towns plan bingos on Christmas. The things you earn if you win are always fruit, typical Spanish Christmas food, wine and some utensiles for the house. Then there're like mini bingos, you win them if you complete the line. Usually the prize for that is wine or champain. At the end they do the "superextra" and they give machines, like a TV, a washermachine, an Ipad or even a bike.

This are the common things that bingos do. But then as spanish people, we have to spice up the things a little bit. We usually go to bingos with all the family (from the oldest to the youngest). We don't play with counters, we play with corn (if you win a bingo, you'll have to find a place to hide, some people can't stand losing and they will throw the corn to you as a "joke"). People also shout a lot when they're about to win. They scream things like remena, remena! (It means mix the balls!).
At the beginning I said that I also hate it, and it's because sometimes it's boring to be there just listening the numbers for two hours. For me, it all depends on the person who's shouting the numbers, because before saying the number, they say like a mini riddle. For example:
  • Number 1: el més petit de tots ( the smallest one), but the most popular is el que fa por ( the scariest number) because all the people shout uuuuuuuuhh!
  • Number 2: l'aneguet (the little duck).
  • Number 15: la nena maca (the pretty girl).
I'm pretty sure that someone knows one riddle for each number!

WHAT TO WRITE IN A FREE POST?

I think that we all have been in front of our computers thinking about what we can write about when it comes to a free post. And then we just leave it for later. Do you think that you have done every theme that you can imagine? I don't think so! Therefore I'm going to try to help somebody and if not, it will be useful and inspirational for me.

-Tip nº1:
Look everything that you have arround. Is there any special object that has a good memory behind it? (Like the old pillow that your grandma gave it to you years ago, but you have to hide one side because it has a stain.) Use it!
If it is too personal, you can always describe in what kind of environment do you usually work (Is it light with a lot of space? Or you prefer the cozziness of a darker room with candles all arround?)

-Tip nº2:
If you have an idea but it's very typical, try to twist it! Everyone has a post about their hobbies or favourite whatever. Try to talk about how a stranger eye would see it. Or the way the fans of something that you are also in feel it. (Like how people who don't like football see it, or how football fans feel about their teams).

Also when it comes the typical time of the year like Christmas, Summer, Easter, etc. I'm not saying that it's a bad idea to write about how you feel about it! (I love to do it) It's just that if you want to continue with the spirit of it. You can write about an especific thing (Why Santa uses red clothes? Does everyone disconnect too much in summer hollidays?) supporting what I said before, not about you, just like the way you think our society works

-Tip nº3:
Supposing that you like to write about you past, the things you've done, it will be a good idea to share some of your experiencies that we (as teenagers) considere important or made us realize how this big adult world works. Perhaps you will help someone or give them the little shove that they need.

It will be the best if we could turn our free posts of something more important than just homework. Why not to make it a way of sharing knowledge?
